Hello fellow classmates! My name is Edward Smith. Most people call me Ed or Eddie. I am in my first semester here at RIC for an undergraduate degree in Health & Physical Education after spending my 20s in the blue collar and transportation work fields. It was not an easy choice to leave a job that I planned on retiring with. Although, the work was pleasantly challenging, it was not fulfilling enough for me and felt like I wasn't progressing as a person in a physical, mental, and emotional perspective. Physical health is very important to me and I want to be able to share that importance to younger generations. A few more things about me is that my favorite pastime activity is riding noncompetitive freestyle BMX but I love all things bike related, whether its self propelled or motorized. I also enjoy spending time in nature swimming, hiking, and biking.
